Chief Commercial Officer, HMRC
HMRC have approx 58,000 staff and are the UK’s tax/payments and customs authority, collecting money that pays for the UK’s public services. HMRC are undergoing one of the most significant transformations in Government making tax digital for its customers consolidating the workforce into 14 UK regional centres/specialist sites and establishing new infrastructure at the border to support the UK’s new political and economic sovereignty.

Rob’s role is to provide strategic leadership and direction across for all commercial arrangements covering HMRC’s £1.5bn annual external spend and its strategy for relationships with customer-facing intermediaries in the tax ecosystem.

Rob is a member of the Commercial Function Leadership Group, which recruits, retains/develops senior commercial professionals and leverages government’s position in key supplier markets.

Before joining HMRC, Rob was a Managing Director at Accenture (2006-2017) also leading UK Inclusion and Diversity programmes and was champion of the Ethnic Networks. He worked with Executive Teams on transformation programmes across Financial Services, Telco, Media and Public Health sectors. He has extensive international in the United States, Hong Kong, Singapore, South Africa and the Netherlands.

Rob holds a Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering from Birmingham University and is a keen guitarist.
