Chief Procurement Officer, Barclays
As an accomplished Senior Executive, Al has led businesses to deliver significant bottom line results. For the last four years he has been transforming the third party cost base and operational capabilities at Barclays Bank as the Group Chief Procurement Officer (CPO).

He works closely with the Executive Committee to ensure third party spend, outsourcing/offshoring strategies and supply chain resilience align with the firm’s strategy to create financial capacity for strategic investments while also improving the firm’s overall Cost to Income position.

Prior to joining Barclays in January 2017, Al spent over 18 years with Accenture most recently as the Global Chief Procurement Officer. During this time Al led a global team across 65+ countries delivering bottom line results, improved financial results from the firm’s Mergers and Acquisitions, established a digital Source to Pay capability and high value strategic partnerships with third parties.

Prior to this role, Al was the Senior Executive and Managing Director responsible for the firm’s Global Subcontractor Services capability focused on third party partner spend aligned directly with revenue delivery. He also spent several years as the United States Procurement lead and as a Senior Manager in financial operations honing his skills around outsourcing, offshoring, organizational design, and operational effectiveness.

Al has experience working at a board level in the firm and has been an active non-executive director on for-profit and not-for-profit boards. He has an MBA from The University of Chicago and a BA from East Tennessee State University.
