Jane Liang
Group Head of Procurement , BAT
Jane is the Group Head of Procurement at BAT leading a team located in more than 60 countries and serving 180 end markets.
As with all organisations 2020 was an extremely challenging year. Jane oversaw a monumental effort from the entire Procurement team at BAT to ensure that the business continued operating successfully by mitigating various major disruptions. In addition, to prepare for further transformation, Jane led the development and deployment of a new 5-year procurement strategy which incorporates driving supplier base loss analysis, optimizing international trade, enhancing spend proficiency and upgrading the digital landscape.
Sustainability is front and centre for BAT. Under Jane’s leadership, the team launched a program “A Better Tomorrow, Together” to accelerate supplier engagement and innovation pipelines to meet the stretching targets on carbon emission reduction and to drive the circular economy.
Jane’s career spans senior positions across diverse cultures, three continents and various industries. She started her career with Proctor & Gamble Marketing in China and later joined General Motors Worldwide Purchasing in the US. She then moved to Harman International, bringing supplier innovation into vehicle information system and set up a green field manufacturing facility in Asia. Prior to BAT Jane served as the VP of Strategic Categories at BHP in Singapore, where she led the consolidation/central management of global strategic spend.
Jane has an MBA from Thunderbird School of Global Management and she currently lives in London with her family.
