Sainsbury’s, Transforming the Conversation on Cost
In Retail, cost is always a hot topic. With a new CFO and CPO at the helm in 2018 we aligned on strategy and with their support we set out to challenge our Operating Board’s historical approach to cost and savings, to think differently. The Procurement team established a new cost transformation capability that would reset the scale of our Group cost base, by putting Procurement and greater commercial leadership at its heart. This submission outlines the innovative approaches we put in place to deliver this ambition and the lasting legacy within our business.
