Commercial Step-Change: A charity force marching towards procurement excellence

The Royal British Legion (RBL) is an Armed Forces charity with services which include; financial, legal and career advice, care homes, hotels and home help. Procurement within the charity sector is considered immature and this coupled with a difficult fundraising climate and other external challenges to navigate provided an opportunity to transform procurement at the Legion. A new structure, team, systems and processes embedded over the past 18 months as part of a planned transformation roadmap have enabled Procurement to demonstrate their value and drive improved practice within the Legion, blazing a trail for the rest of the charity sector.
