Staff engagement and underrepresentation

Defra Group Commercial have addressed the issue of falling staff engagement and growing underrepresentation of some groups by taking a people centred approach to inclusion and creating an environment where staff feel welcome and supported. We achieved this using employee volunteers to strengthen engagement and inclusion of staff through communications and events sponsored and visibly supported by senior leaders. This journey has been challenging but we have successfully changed our workplace culture to one which is more diverse and inclusive and where the team bring their authentic selves to work and take pride in sharing aspects of their lives.
