How to respect and promote the rights and welfare of workers employed in the SC ? We incorporated the Worker Welfare Principles into our management system and begun implementing these on a risk-based approach across contracted activities, as-well-as our SC. A cross-functional team developed a framework, based on engagements with business representatives and contractors, which incorporated learnings from their experience, and drove a comprehensive change-and-engage plan. We hard-wired the changes into our contracting process and strategic sourcing platform. Whilst we anticipate that achieving a consistent high standard of worker welfare will take time, indications of lasting improvement are already visible.
