Creating business leaders: our team led development program
Sainsbury’s Procurement team embarked on a major transformation in 2018 to support the Group’s ambition to overhaul its cost base by significantly stepping up its approach to cost and efficiency. We wanted to take this opportunity to put procurement and great commercial leadership at the heart of the business. Fundamental to achieving this was enabling and developing our Procurement team to drive the transformation agenda. We had outgrown our existing framework with traditional behavioural and technical competencies no longer stretching enough. This submission covers our journey to create an innovative, team-led training and development agenda to reflect our new ambition.
