New Prison Capacity Programme

In 2021, MOJ formed a multi-disciplinary construction division to deliver an ambitious programme to rapidly expand the Prison Estate by 20,000 places and drives commercial/construction excellence within the industry.

This portfolio involves the procurement and design/build of innovative/complex infrastructure projects nationwide. MoJ developed bespoke commercial models targeting all sectors, whilst driving greener, better and faster outcomes, through complex procurements and the implementation of Alliancing contracts. This team successfully delivers the principles of the construction playbook and is an exemplar, path finder case study for all government departments delivering infrastructure projects and, a proactive member of the gold standards task force
