Implementation of a 4PL Solution for European Rail Logistics

bp utilizes Rail Logistics services to transport products from refineries in Germany to customers throughout Europe. The activities include managing daily operations, rail tank car maintenance and leasing activities, management of commercial contracting activities (including tendering, invoice management), and performance management of contractors. The project aimed to outsource the management of rail activities to a designated Rail Logistics Services provider based on a 4PL model to optimize internal cost and enable lean organization solutions, have access to digital solutions, promote efficiency in operations and performance management, reduce admin burden, and ensure the most competitive offers from the market.
