Education Bursary funded by social value contributions
Hammersmith & Fulham Council
Socioeconomic outcomes for young people leaving local authority care are much poorer than for others entering the labour market.
The Education Bursary project optimises supplier social value contributions, to reduce inequality in education, training, and career prospects for under-funded Hammersmith & Fulham’s care leavers. The project creates a powerful and replicable best practice model which overcomes the lack of direction, delivery and accountability that so often befalls supplier social value commitments. In a radical collaboration and with Faithful+Gould’s support, the project has elicited and coordinated funding, training, mentoring, work experience and tech resources from multiple suppliers, benefiting local care leavers.
