Embedding Diversity & Inclusion into Procurement & SRM practice and behaviour
The Procurement team wished to do more to promote a diversity and inclusion (D&I) ethos. A survey showed that colleagues wanted to feel like career development was inclusive, that line managers actively encouraged D&I and that D&I was integral to our procurement and supplier management practices and behaviours. The whole team was involved in our solution that included career development discussions and a talent programme; line managers learning and applying a D&I toolkit for talent acquisition and management; and embedding D&I in how we select and manage suppliers. Our flagship D&I sourcing initiative is for new design branch staff uniforms.
