Cabinet Office
Bringing Net Zero into the commercial process - Carbon Reduction Plans and PPN:06/21
The Cabinet Office introduced a new procurement policy to improve the sustainability of Government suppliers and ensure they were aligned with the UK's legal target to achieve Net Zero by 2050.
This new policy requires all suppliers bidding for major Government contracts to publish a 'Carbon Reduction Plan' (CRP). CRPs confirm a supplier's commitment to achieving Net Zero by 2050 at the latest; detailing their carbon footprint and environmental management measures they have in place. This policy is a world first, and thousands of suppliers have already published a CRP and committed their organisation to achieving Net Zero by 2050.
