Responding to the Covid 19 pandemic, AstraZeneca Procurement secured continuity of supply for over 200 critical components for testing of 15,000 staff across 3 countries, whilst maintaining business as usual through effective procurement of PPE. Furthermore, AstraZeneca became part of the UK Track and Trace strategy by establishing a new screening centre delivering 175,000 tests weekly. This provided critical data around disease spread and mutation. Procurement leveraged its global supply chain knowledge, supplier relationships and business leadership skills in partnership with our scientists to deliver medicines to our patients and ensured that the screening centre was operational within 5 weeks.
