Caroline is Procurement Director at Drax a FTSE 250 renewable energy company whose purpose is to ‘enable a zero carbon, lower cost energy future’.
Operating across four sites in in the UK and thirteen sites in the United States and Canada Drax is the UK leader in renewable power generation and a global bioenergy supply business producing compressed wood pellets for its own use and for sale to customers in Europe and Asia. In 2019 Drax announced its world-leading ambition to be carbon negative by 2030, using Bioenergy with Carbon Capture and Storage (BECCS) technology.
Caroline joined Drax in August 2021 with the remit to build a truly global procurement capability which can support the business both now and in the future. Procurement has an important role to play as Drax executes its strategy to be a carbon negative company by 2030.
An experienced, energetic and impactful procurement leader who has been fortunate enough to work for some wonderfully diverse and interesting companies over a 25 year career, in sectors including technology, retail and financial services.
Caroline believes we’re always learning and has championed the development of the first official Finance Graduate programme at Drax, which includes procurement. She is also an accredited assessor for the Government Commercial function.
